Productions recognized by the nominators include two off-Broadway productions from The Public Theater, ”The Glass Menagerie”, and ”The Bridges of Madison County”.
The Drama League announced the 2014 Drama League Awards nominees this morning at an event hosted by Judith Light and Christopher Sieber at Sardi's restaurant. The nominations, which include nods to Broadway and off-Broadway productions, kick off a month of celebrations leading up to the 80th annual Drama League Awards ceremony, which will be held at the Marriott Marquis Times Square on May 16. Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson will host the event.
First awarded in 1922, The Drama League Awards are the oldest theatrical honors in America. They honor work in five competitive categories, including Distinguished Play, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Musical, and Distinguished Performance.
