The season will include new plays by Torben Betts and Scott Organ plus a revival by Lee Blessing.
The Barrow Group Theatre Company has announced its 2017-18 season. The three-show lineup will kick off in the company's newly renovated space with a one-night benefit performance of Martin Moran's solo-show The Tricky Part, directed by Seth Barrish on October 16.
The Tricky Part was developed at the Barrow Group. Following its premiere in 2004, the play received a 2004 Obie Award, two Drama Desk Award nominations, an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination, and a GLAAD Media Award nomination.
The upcoming season will begin with the New York premiere of Muswell Hill (November 11-December 16), a play by Torben Betts, followed by the world premiere of The Thing With Feathers (January 13-February 10), a new play by Scott Organ, and a revival of A Walk in the Woods (March 17-April 15) by Lee Blessing.
"We're dedicated to enriching people's lives with productions that emphasize simple, unadorned, natural storytelling," said artistic directors Seth Barrish and Lee Brock in a statement. "The four plays in our upcoming season are timely meditations on friendship, forgiveness, and the intricacies of human connection."
