The Amanda Peet play will continue its Manhattan Theatre Club run.
The Manhattan Theatre Club has announced a final two-week extension of its world premiere of The Commons of Pensacola, written by Amanda Peet and starring Sarah Jessica Parker. MTC's artistic director Lynne Meadow directs the production, which opened on November 21 at New York City Center. Closing is now set for February 9.
In addition to Parker, the cast features Blythe Danner, Zoe Levin, Ali Marsh, Michael Stahl-David, and Nilaja Sun.
This dark comedy follows Judith (Danner) as she is forced to leave her luxurious New York lifestyle and move into a one-bedroom condo in Pensacola, Florida. When her daughter Becca (Parker) pays her a visit, Judith's life is thrown for a loop when everyone's motives are questioned.
The creative team includes Santo Loquasto (scenic design), Tom Broecker (costume design), Jason Lyons (lighting design), Jill BC Du Boff (sound design), and Thomas Schall (fight director).
