The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time to Solve Last Mystery on Broadway

The National Theatre of Great Britain's Broadway production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time will end its run at the Barrymore Theatre on September 4 after 23 previews and 800 performances. The piece, which is adapted by Simon Stephens from Mark Haddon's best-selling novel, began performances September 10, 2014, and opened on October 5.

In The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, 15-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor's dog, he sets out on a journey to identify the true culprit.

The cast stars Tyler Lea in his Broadway debut as Christopher, Rosie Benton (Stick Fly) as Siobhan, Andrew Long (The Iceman Cometh at BAM) as Ed, Enid Graham (The Constant Wife) as Judy, and Nancy Robinette (Louie) as Mrs. Alexander. The ensemble includes Keren Dukes, Stephanie Roth Haberle, Mercedes Herrero, Richard Hollis, Ben Horner, David Manis, Tom Patrick Stephens, Tiffany Rachelle Stewart, and Timothy Wright. Benjamin Wheelwright also makes his Broadway debut as Christopher at certain performances.

Following a sold-out run at the National's Cottesloe Theatre in 2012, the play transferred to London's West End where it received seven 2013 Olivier Awards, including Best New Play. The Broadway production earned five Tony Awards including Best Play, Best Lead Actor (Alex Sharp), and Best Direction (Marianne Elliott).
