The Disney Channel will commemorate the life of actor and comedian Robin Williams with a series of rebroadcasts of the 1992 film Aladdin, in which Williams famously voiced the Genie.

The cable network will air the film August 16 at 9am and 6:30pm, with additional airings on August 17 and 18 on the Disney XD and Disney Junior networks.

Williams died August 11 at the age of 63. He made his Broadway debut in July 2002 in the comedy show Robin Williams: Live on Broadway and returned in July 2011 to star in Rajiv Joseph's play Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo. Disney's stage adaptation of Aladdin currently runs at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
