Andrei Belgrader directs an adaptation of Christopher Marlowe’s classic.
Classic Stage Company has announced casting for the upcoming production of Doctor Faustus, adapted by David Bridel and Andrei Belgrader from the play by Christopher Marlowe. The production is set to begin previews May 29 for a limited engagement through July 2. An official press opening is scheduled for June 18.
As previously announced, Doctor Faustus will star Chris Noth (That Championship Season, The Good Wife), with direction by Andrei Belgrader. Newly announced cast members include Tony Award nominee Zach Grenier (33 Variations, The Good Wife) as Mephistopheles as well as Jeff Binder, Ken Cheeseman, Carmen M. Herlihy, Walker Jones, Geoffrey Owens, and Lucas Caleb Rooney.
In Doctor Faustus, Faustus' pact with the devil brings boundless knowledge and endless gratification, but at a price.
Scenic design is by Tony Straiges, lighting design by Jason Lyons, and costume design by Rita Ryack and Martin Schnellinger.
