The Hypocrites and the Ruffians Present Burning Bluebeard

The Hypocrites continue their 2015-16 season with return of the Ruffians’ critically acclaimed holiday hit, Burning Bluebeard. Written by Jay Torrence, directed by Halena Kays, and associate-directed by Joseph Schupbach, the work continues through January 10 at The Den Theatre.

Pam Chermansky, Anthony Courser, Molly Plunk, Jay Torrence, Leah Urzendowski, and Ryan Walters star in the play, which is inspired by a 1903 fire at Chicago’s Iroquois Theatre that killed 600 audience members. The December 30 performances mark the 112th anniversary of the fire itself.
