The York Theatre Company will launch its fall developmental NEO Reading Series with a free performance of Dan Collins and Julianne Wick Davis' new musical When We Met on October 21. Philip Himberg will direct the event, which will also feature music direction by Charity Wicks.

Based on an original concept by Julianne Wick Davis, Sally Wilfert, and Michael Winther, and starring Wilfert and Winther, When We Met follows a quantum physicist and an animal communicator as they kick off a tumultuous relationship.

NEO is a yearly York benefit that celebrates songwriters primed to pen the next generation of musicals. The York Theatre Company has recently embarked on a new reading series that focuses on full length works by that year's NEO writers.
