Theater J will present a one-week engagement of the hit off-Broadway musical Stars of David: Story to Song from December 22-27. Conceived by Aaron Harnick and Abigail Pogrebin, the production is directed by Shirley Serotsky.

Based on Abigail Pogrebin's best-selling book, Stars of David is a musical revue that celebrates the Jewish identity of some of the best-known American personalities, including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Andy Cohen, Gloria Steinem, Kenneth Cole, Fran Drescher, Aaron Sorkin, Leonard Nimoy, Joan Rivers, Tony Kushner, and more. After conducting interviews with Jewish celebrities, Pogrebin worked with composers and lyricists including Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line), Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home), Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof), Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater (Spring Awakening), and Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) to create the show's music.

Stars of David will feature a star-studded cast of Joshua Dick, Sherri L. Edelen, Emily Levey, and Aaron Serotsky.

Garth Dolan will serve as the lighting designer, with Jonathan Dahm Robertson as resident assistant scenic designer, and Justin Schmitz as resident assistant sound designer.
