Judd Hirsch will play Sigmund Freud and Tom Cavanagh will take on the role of C. S. Lewis in the Los Angeles premiere of Freud’s Last Session, to play The Broad Stage in Santa Monica, January 11-February 10, 2013. Tyler Marchant, who directed the original New York production, will repeat his duties for this engagement.
Mark St. Germain’s play features a clash between these two famous historical figures on the existence of God, love, sex, and the meaning of life.
Hirsch won Tony Awards for I’m Not Rappaport and Conversations With My Father, and Emmy Awards for his work in the TV series Taxi. He also received an Oscar nomination for his performance in Ordinary People.
Cavanagh is best known for his work in the NBC series Ed. Broadway credits include Urinetown and Shenandoah.
