Tony Award winners Alan Cumming and Audra McDonald are among the honorees of the eighth annual “Made in NY” Awards, to be held Monday, June 10 at Gracie Mansion. Presented to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the entertainment and digital media industries in New York City, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will host the event alongside Katherine L. Oliver, the commissioner of the mayor’s office of media & entertainment.

Cumming is currently appearing on Broadway in William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, a production that will cancel its June 10 show and replace it with a matinee on June 15 so the actor can attend the ceremony. Cumming won a Tony Award for his performance as the Emcee in the musical Cabaret, and has also appeared on Broadway in The Threepenny Opera and Design for Living. Among his screen credits is the hit CBS drama series The Good Wife, which shoots in New York City.

McDonald received her fifth Tony Award for her performance as Bess in the 2012 Broadway revival of The Gershwins’ Porgy & Bess. She is also the recipient of Tonys for her performances in A Raisin in the Sun, Ragtime, Master Class, and Carousel. Her new album, Go Back Home, will be released on May 21 and celebrated with a PBS Live from Lincoln Center concert broadcast on April 24.

Additional honorees of the “Made in NY” awards include two-time Oscar-nominated director Spike Lee, who recently directed the Broadway premiere of Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth; model and Project Runway host Heidi Klum; HBO Documentary Films president Sheila Nevins, film moguls Harvey and Bob Weinstein; and the blogging platform Tumblr. Journalist and television talk show host Barbara Walters will be presented with the “Made in NY” Mayor’s Award for Lifetime Achievement. The evening will also feature a performance from the new Broadway musical Kinky Boots, introduced by book writer Harvey Fierstein.
