Over 250 performers will come together at the Metropolitan Room for the ”Longest Variety Show Ever” this New Year’s.
The program for the Metropolitan Room's Longest Variety Show Ever is taking shape and is poised to break more than one record this New Year's. As previously announced, the Manhattan venue will host a three-day marathon show, stretching from Thursday, January 1, through Sunday, January 4, 2015 — 60 straight hours of entertainment. The show is produced with an eye to a Guinness World Record for longest variety show ever (the current record stands at 12 hours and 8 minutes).
The tally of performers currently stands at 265 individual acts with over 20 emcees, and spans six categories: music, burlesque, comedy/spoken word, drag, theater/opera, and magic/puppetry. In addition to the record for longest variety show, the program is also positioned to set the new record for most performers in a single show.
Broadway, jazz, and cabaret artists set to perform include Tony Danza (Honeymoon in Vegas), Marilyn Maye, Bill Boggs, Emily Bergl, Julie Budd, Heather MacRae, Jeff Harnar, KT Sullivan, Baby Jane Dexter, Luba Mason, Aaron Weinstein, Jim Brochu, Steve Ross, Maxine Linehan, Eric Yves Garcia, Devin Bing, Jay Rogers, Billy Stritch, Marissa Mulder, Christine Pedi, Cary Hoffman, Randie Levine-Miller, Bobbie Horowitz, Joseph Macchia, Liz McEndry, Stephen Sorokoff, Celia Berk, Kevin Dozier, Peggy Eason, and Daryl Glenn.
From the comedy and magic worlds: Judy Gold, Eddie Brill, Harrison Greenbaum, Ricky Ritzel, Warren Schein, Matthew Holtzclaw, Michael Six Muldoon, Matias Letelier, Bob Greenberg, Shane Baker, and Jeffrey Gurian.
From burlesque and drag: Hedda Lettuce, Witti Repartee, Quinn Lemley, Brita Filter, Sasha Pierce, David F. Slone, and Sylvia Mims.
