Tony Nominee Justin Vivian Bond Revives Mx America at Joe’s Pub at The Public

The multimedia cabaret performance will play for six nights.

Joe’s Pub will welcome back transgender Tony-nominated cabaret performer Justin Vivian Bond in Mx America for six performances September 20-October 5. In the show, “v” plays the singular finalist in this Mx America pageant.

During the pageant, the contestant is judged on categories such as presentation, economic status, mental health, family values, and talent. “V”‘s multimedia performance includes video, spoken word, and original songs from the critically acclaimed records Dendrophile and Silver Wells.

Bond’s credits include over 70 shows at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater. All of his work aims to challenge the gender binary as well as gender conformity.

Kiki & Herb: Alive on Broadway, Justin Vivian Bond’s show with Kenny Mellman, received a 2007 Tony Award nomination for Best Special Theatrical Event.
