Tony nominee Phillipa Soo, now appearing opposite Uma Thurman on Broadway in Beau Willimon's The Parisian Woman, has been cast in the upcoming CBS drama pilot The Code.

According to Variety, the show follows "the military’s brightest minds as they take on our country’s toughest challenges — inside the courtroom and out — where each attorney is trained as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, an investigator — and a Marine." Soo will star as 2nd Lieutenant Harper, "described as a hyper-organized officer capable of sub-dividing any problem into color-coded action points."

Soo is best known for originating the role of Eliza Hamilton in Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony-winning musical Hamilton, earning a Tony nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical. She went on to lead the Broadway cast of the musical adaptation of Amélie and provided voices for the Disney animated film Moana.

The Code is cowritten and executive-produced by Craig Sweeny and Craig Turk. Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman will also executive-produce, with Sweeny serving as showrunner. Marc Webb will direct and executive-produce the pilot, which is produced by CBS Television Studios.
