Inside Broadway has announced that this year’s Broadway Beacon Awards, which will be held June 17 at Joe’s Pub at 7pm, will honor Broadway stars Laura Osnes (Cinderella) and Condola Rashad (Trip to Bountiful), as well as Alan L. Bain, Chairman of The American-Scottish Foundation.
Broadway’s Christie Brinkley (Chicago) is serving as honorary chair for the event, which is held annually to support Inside Broadway. The evening will be hosted by FOX5 entertainment reporter Anna Gilligan. Entertainment will include performances from students of JHS 278 in Brooklyn.
Inside Broadway, which was established in 1982 by Executive Director Michael Presser, aims to bring the joys of theatre to New York City’s underserved public school students. The program reaches over 30,000 New York City students each year and develops and produces touring equity musical productions.
