The event will include a New Play Bake Off featuring playwrights Robert Askins, Heidi Schreck, and Caroline V. McGraw.
Off-Broadway theater company Page 73 Productions has announced that Tony Award winner Julie White will host its spring benefit on April 25 at City Winery. The evening's festivities will include dinner, cocktails, and the annual New Play Bake Off.
Page 73's New Play Bake Off is an event in which playwrights incorporate suggestions given by the audience to write Page 73 of a new play during the cocktail hour. During dinner, each playwright's submission will be read by Debra Monk, Betty Gilpin, and Sam Breslin Wright, all directed by Kip Fagan.
Playwrights set for this year's Bake Off are Robert Askins (Hand to God), Heidi Schreck (upcoming Grand Concourse at Playwrights Horizons), and Caroline V. McGraw (upcoming The Vaults at New Georges).
Michael Mitnick will also offer a special musical performance of the song "Cecily Smith," from his new musical Fly by Night, which is set to premiere at Playwrights Horizons.
Page 73 Productions is dedicated to developing and producing the work of early-career playwrights, through a series of development opportunities, workshops, readings, and fully produced productions.
