Turn Off Your DVD Player and Check Out Eddie Kaye Thomas and Sarah Steele in Off-Broadway’s The Netflix Plays

Eddie Kaye Thomas (American Pie), Sarah Steele (Slowgirl), and Drew McVety (Cyrano de Bergerac) are among the actors who will trade their movie queues for live theater when they star in the Ars Nova Play Group’s upcoming production of The Netflix Plays. Pause the streaming (and stop stealing your roommate’s account info) and catch this evening of one-acts and live music, running January 30-February 9.

The Netflix Plays is inspired by the recommendation categories on the popular film rental site, Netflix. Featured playwrights include Pulitzer Prize finalist Stephen Karam (Sons of the Prophet), Jon Kern (Modern Terrorism), Josh Koenigsberg (Herman Kline’s Midlife Crisis), Nick Gandiello (Travis Winters), Dipika Guha (The Betrothed), Michael Mitnick (Sex Lives of Our Parents), Rachel Bonds (Bring Your Kid to Work), Sarah Burgess (The Tenant), Sarah Gancher (Something’s Got Ahold of My Heart), Sharyn Rothstein (March), A. Zell Williams (Blood/Money), and Bess Wohl (Barcelona).

Joining Thomas (Golden Age), Steele (Speech & Debate), and McVety (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) in the company are Kyle Beltran (In the Heights), Deonna Bouye (Barrio Grrrl!), Nadia Bowers (Doubt), Megan Byrne (Julie & Julia), and Ben Graney (When the Rain Stops Falling). Live music will be provided by Brandon Kyle Goodman, Ryan Henry, Chris Moses Kinlow, and Jo Lampert.

Featured on the creative team are Jess Chayes, Wes Grantom, Jesse Jou and Portia Krieger (directors), Tilly Grimes (costume design), Driscoll Otto (lighting design), Josh Millican (sound design), Dan Scully (projection design), and Noah Mease (prop design).
