The ”Grease Live” star will play an insurance-claims adjuster in her latest gig.
Grease Live's Vanessa Hudgens will star in the new pilot Powerless from NBC and DC Comics.
Powerless, based on characters from the DC Comics canon, is a workplace comedy centering around "the exceedingly average employees at an insurance company and their quest to find their own power." Hudgens will play Emily Locke, an insurance claims adjuster who loves her job, but not the Super Heroes whose antics disrupt her city.
The role would mark Hudgens' first series regular position on a television sheries. She has been seen in the films High School Musical and its sequels, Spring Breakers, Machete Kills, Sucker Punch. She made her Broadway debut in the 2015 revival of Gigi.
The single camera half-hour sitcom was written by Ben Queen. Michael Patrick Jann will direct the pilot.
