The Arts Music division of Warner Music Group announced that it will release the original soundtrack recording of A Christmas Story Live! on Monday, December 18, the day after the live television event airs on Fox December 17. It will be available in all digital and streaming formats.

As previously announced, Bebe Rexha will open A Christmas Story Live! with a performance of "Count on Christmas," a new song specifically written for the event by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

The three-hour live television event is inspired by the holiday classic feature A Christmas Story and Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Joseph Robinette's Tony Award-nominated production A Christmas Story: The Musical. It is directed and executive-produced by Scott Ellis and Alex Rudzinski. Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, Jonathan Tolins, and Robert Cary will also executive-produce, with Tolins and Cary serving as writers as well.

The company includes Andy Walken as Ralphie, Maya Rudolph as Ralphie's mother, Matthew Broderick as the narrator, Jane Krakowski as Miss Shields, Ana Gasteyer as Mrs. Schwartz, Chris Diamantopoulos as the Old Man, Ken Jeong as both a Christmas tree salesman and a restaurant owner, and David Alan Grier as Santa Claus. The band PrettyMuch will appear as the Hohman, Indiana, carolers.
