Roundabout Theatre Company’s world premiere of Theresa Rebeck’s new play opens tomorrow night.
On the eve of opening night, Roundabout Theatre Company has released scenes from its world-premiere production of Theresa Rebeck's Bernhardt/Hamlet, directed by Moritz van Stuelpnagel. One can now get an early glimpse of Janet McTeer verbally sparring with Dylan Baker, Tony Carlin, and others as her character, famed stage actor Sarah Bernhardt, prepares to play Hamlet. The limited engagement will run through November 11 at the American Airlines Theatre. Check out the clips below.
Rebeck's new Roundabout-commissioned play rollicks with high comedy and human drama set against the lavish Shakespearean production that could make or break Bernhardt's career.
Joining McTeer are Dylan Baker as Constant Coquelin and Jason Butler Harner as Edmond Rostand, with Matthew Saldivar as Alphonse Mucha, Nick Westrate as Maurice, Tony Carlin as Louis, Ito Aghayere as Rosamond, Brittany Bradford as Lysette, Aaron Costa Ganis as Raoul, and Triney Sandoval as Francois.
