The ”Hamilton” creator joined Buffett onstage after Saturday evening’s performance of ”Escape to Margaritaville” in Chicago.
Lin-Manuel Miranda spent a lot of time with Jimmy Buffett in Chicago this past Saturday, it seems. Buffett was Miranda's guest at a matinee performance of Hamilton at CIBC Theatre that afternoon, and then Miranda was Buffett's guest at an evening performance of Escape to Margaritaville at the Oriental Theatre. During the final curtain call, Miranda joined Buffett onstage for a surprise performance of the latter's iconic hit song "Margaritaville," clips of which you can see below.
Currently in its pre-Broadway engagement, Escape to Margaritaville runs at the Oriental Theatre through December 2. The new musical, featuring songs by Buffett, will begin Broadway previews on February 16 at the Marquis Theatre, with an official opening night set for March 15.
