As the newly released digital version of the Pippin cast album climbs the charts (it hit #2 on the iTunes “Soundtracks” chart and reached #16 in overall album sales when it was released yesterday), a new “Making the Album” video has also been released.

The video features highlights from several selections on the new album, moments with your favorite Broadway stars belting behind the mic, and footage of the 700-member chorus singing “No Time At All.” There are also some great moments behind the scenes that show just what happens when you keep a group of circus performers cooped up all day.

In Pippin, the title character, played by Matthew James Thomas (Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark), sets off on a death-defying journey to find his “corner of the sky” with the help (or hindrance) of a mysterious group of performers led by Patina Miller (Sister Act) as The Leading Player. The Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz musical features circus elements by Gypsy Snider, choreography by Chet Walker, and direction by Diane Paulus. The physical album will be available beginning June 9.
