WhatsOnStage.com, a leading digital theater content and ticketing company based in the United Kingdom, has recently unveiled a brand-new website, the company’s first major overhaul since its launch in 1997. TheaterMania acquired WhatsOnStage from TimeOut Group this January and is sharing their Broadway-tested platform.
In addition, over 60 UK towns and cities have a dedicated mini site within the main website on the new WhatsOnStage.com — as do London’s thriving West End and off-West End theater scenes, and all major productions.
The release of the new website design is considered a “soft launch,” which means that both WhatsOnStage and TheaterMania teams will continue to evaluate visitor usage and add further functionality, improving the user experience and interface during the next few months. A launch marketing campaign for the fully fledged, new WhatsOnStage.com is planned for the fall, coinciding with the lead up to the 14th annual WhatsOnStage Awards , the only UK theater prize-giving decided across the board by the public (over 60,000 people vote each year).
“This powerful new platform allows us to offer an exponentially better service to theatergoers and the theater industry. We are hugely excited to share it with them and roll out more improvements in the future,” said founding editor and managing director of WhatsOnStage, Terri Paddock.
