New York City
The work is written by Jonathan Brielle and directed by Michael Bush.
Whitney Bashor (The Bridges of Madison County) will join the previously announced Matt Bogart (Jersey Boys) in the new off-Broadway musical Himself and Nora. Written by Jonathan Brielle, the production will begin previews May 14 at the Minetta Lane Theatre, with opening night set for June 6. Michael Bush directs.
The work, which features book and score by Brielle, explores the relationship between author James Joyce (Bogart) and Nora (Bashor), the country girl from Galway whose burning sexuality and acerbic wit inspired the genius.
The production has choreography by Kelli Barclay, set design by Paul Tate dePoo III, costume design by Amy Clark, lighting design by Jason Lyons, and sound design by Keith Caggiano.
