Tony-nominated book writer Douglas Carter Beane will direct the performances.
Members of the original Broadway cast and national tour of the musical Xanadu will reunite in concert at Feinstein's/54 Below on September 17. The 7pm and 9:30pm concerts are directed by Tony-nominated book writer Douglas Carter Beane, with music directed by Brad Simmons. Shoshana Feinstein is the producer.
Set to reprise their roles are Jacob ben Widmar (Broadway), Annie Golden (original Broadway cast), Curtis Holbrook (original Broadway cast), Anika Larsen (original Broadway cast), Kenita R. Miller (original Broadway cast), Elizabeth Stanley (national tour), Tony Roberts (original Broadway cast), Mary Testa (original Broadway cast), Andre Ward (original Broadway cast), and Max Von Essen (national tour).
Xanadu, which is based on the Universal Pictures film of the same name, features music by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar and a book by Beane. It ran on Broadway for over a year and was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The original film screenplay was written by Richard Danus and Mark Rubel.
