Young Actor Noah Marlowe Joins Kristin Chenoweth and Andrew Lippa in the Cast of I Am Harvey Milk

Twelve-year-old actor Noah Marlowe (Mary Poppins, Act One) has been cast as Young Harvey Milk in the New York premiere of I Am Harvey Milk, a theatrical choral piece by Tony and Grammy Award nominee Andrew Lippa (Big Fish).

Marlowe returns to the piece after originating the role in the world premiere performance in San Francisco, and he can be heard on the production's original cast recording. The New York performance will take place on October 6 at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.

I Am Harvey Milk traces the life of gay-rights activist Harvey Milk from his boyhood through his political career and eventually to his assassination in 1978. Proceeds from the event will be used to create the Harvey Milk Arts Fund at the Hetrick-Martin Institute, which will provide arts education and resources to the students at Harvey Milk High School and other at-risk youth that benefit from HMI's services.

As previously announced, Lippa will star in the title role alongside Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked) as the soprano soloist. The performance will feature the Orchestra of St. Luke's and introduce the 120-member All Star Broadway Men's Chorus.

Directed by Noah Himmelstein, the production also features the creative team of Joel Fram (musical director, conductor), Michele Lynch (choreography), Andrew Lazarow (projection design), Scott Lehrer (sound design), Wilson Chin (scenic consultation), August Eriksmoen (orchestrations), and David Lander (lighting design).
