Your Blues Ain’t Sweet Like Mine Makes its World Premiere at Two River Theater

Two River Theater's presentation of Your Blues Ain't Sweet Like Mine begins performances tonight. The story centers around Zeke and Judith, a highly educated, previously homeless man and a self-described "seeker of knowledge" writer for the New York Times Magazine, respectively. Their worlds collide when Judith decides Zeke’s story would make a great feature for the magazine. The resulting interactions address America’s relationship to race and the affects of hope and possibility in our lives.

Written and directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, the show features Brandon J. Dirden as Zeke, Merritt Janson as Judith, Andrew Hovelson as Randall, Roger Robinson as Zebedee, and Roslyn Ruff as Janeece.

The creative team includes Michael Carnahan (set design), Karen Perry (costume design), Driscoll Otto (lighting design), Robert Kaplowitz (sound design), Bill Sims Jr. (original music), Thomas Schall (fight director), and Laura Wilson (stage manager).

Performances will run through May 3.
