Lynne Meadow directs the upcoming Manhattan Theatre Club world premiere production.
The cast and creative team of Amanda Peet's The Commons of Pensacola met the press at their rehearsal studio on Wednesday, September 25. Directed by Lynne Meadow, the Manhattan Theatre Club off-Broadway production stars Blythe Danner and Sarah Jessica Parker, along with Ali Marsh, Michael Stahl-David, Nilaja Sun, and Zoe Levin. The dark comedy begins previews on October 22 at New York City Center – Stage I, with an opening night set for November 21.
In The Commons of Pensacola, Judith (Danner) has been divested of her assets and forced to leave her New York lifestyle behind after her husband's Wall Street scam became national news. When Judith's daughter Becca (Parker) and Becca's filmmaker boyfriend (Stahl-David) pay her a visit at her new home in Pensacola, Florida, everyone's motives are called into question. The Commons of Pensacola marks the professional playwriting debut of Peet, an actress best known for her performances in the films The Whole Nine Yards and Igby Goes Down.
