Playwright/screenwriter Paul Weitz (American Pie, Trust), the Peter Jay Sharp Foundation, and the 10th anniversary of Second Stage Uptown (curated by Chris Burney) were honored at Second Stage Theatre’s spring gala, held Monday, May 20 at the Best Buy Theatre. On hand to celebrate the occasion were a host of Second Stage veterans, including actor/playwright Zach Braff (Trust, All New People) and his girlfriend, model Taylor Bagley; Tony Award nominee Stephanie J. Block (By the Way, Meet Vera Stark); Adam Kantor (The Last Five Years); Dogfight cast members Lindsay Mendez, Derek Klena, Nick Blaemire, and Stephen Booth; Dogfight writers Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Peter Duchan; Ari Graynor (Trust); Trip Cullman (Lonely, I’m Not); Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair (Murder for Two); and Louis Ozawa Changchien, Matt Dellapina, Aubrey Dollar, and Chris Perfetti of the new Second Stage Uptown production of The Tutors.
