Lampanelli’s new stage work will be directed by Jackson Gay.
Complete casting has been announced for the world premiere of Lisa Lampanelli's Stuffed, a production of WP Theater (formerly Women's Project Theater). Directed by Jackson Gay, the production will begin previews on September 23 at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre, with opening night set for October 7. The limited engagement will play through November 6.
Lampanelli will head the company, alongside Broadway vet Ann Harada (Cinderella). Completing the cast are 2016 Outer Critics Circle Award nominee Zainab Jah (Eclipsed) and Jessica Luck.
With additional material by Ashley Austin Morris, Stuffed "brings together four women’s disparate stories to paint a portrait of the insanity of a world that forces women to address hard-hitting issues like: Is eating an ice cream sandwich in the shower an emotionally fulfilling activity? When it comes to blue jeans, should one opt for a camel toe or a muffin top? And the ultimate question: can food and body-image issues ever truly be conquered?"
