With a book by Bobby Goldman and music and lyrics by Drew Brody, The Curvy Widow is about the exploits of a fiftysomething widow whose adventures in the least expected places reveal unexpected truths about life, love, survival and sex. This world premiere musical explores the hardships of what it means to start life over in the modern age. Peter Flynn directs.
Nancy Opel (Honeymoon in Vegas) stars. She is joined by Andrea Bianchi (Being Audrey), Laura Dean (The Who’s Tommy), Philip Hoffman (Into the Woods), MaryAnn Hu (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas), Christopher Shyer (Mamma Mia!), and Tom Treadwell (Annie).
The artistic team includes Marcos Santana (choreography), Andrew Sotomayor (musical direction), Wayne Barker (orchestration), Brian Hemesath (costume design), Andrew Manion (sets), CJ Barnwell (lights), Matt Nielson (sound), and Jessica Tandy Kammerud (props).
Performances run through November 20.
