Joseph Serafini to Star in Pittsburgh CLO’s Oliver!

12-year-old Joseph Serafini will play the title role in Pittsburgh CLO’s production of Oliver!, to play the Benedum Center, June 1-6.

The musical, with book music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, brings Charles Dickens’ touching tale of young orphan Oliver Twist to life.

Serafini is a sixth grader at Neil Armstrong Middle School in Bethel Park and a fifth year student at the Pittsburgh CLO Academy. He has appeared in seven Pittsburgh CLO productions, including A Musical Christmas Carol from 2005 through 2009 (Tiny Tim and Turkey Boy), the 2009 Summer Season production of Les Misérables (Gavroche) and the 2008 Summer Season production of Peter Pan (Michael Darling).

As previously announced, Pittsburgh CLO’s 2010 Summer Season will also feature Miss Saigon (June 8-20), Curtains (June 22-27), The Producers (July 6-18), Hairspray (July 30-August 1), and The Student Prince (August 3-8).
