The Miracle Worker

About the Show

William Gibson’s The Miracle Worker is a tribute to two women who changed life forever for the deaf and blind in the world. Previously institutionalized as mental defectives, Helen Keller proved to the world that intelligence is not impaired by deafness or blindness. Born in 1880 in Tuscumbia, Alabama Helen’s future was dim, but through the love of her mother an Irish American legally blind teacher was brought to her from Boston. Annie Sullivan remained with Helen throughout her life as teacher and companion.
