In this delightfully suspenseful original play, mystery writer extraordinaire Agatha Christie is hired to direct a new stage "whodunit" for The Broadway Theatre, penned at the not-so-delicate hand of Oklahoma oil tycoon Rip Morrison. Shortly after Agatha arrives with her devoted assistant, Stevey, and her wayward niece, Cynthia, the first read-through begins.
The cast includes a star-studded cavalcade of veteran Broadway stars: larger-than-life Shakespearean actor Drake McCormick, his former wife and former Broadway leading lady Zelda Albright, and famous character actor and artist of great reputation Barney Greenbaum. Soon, the oil tycoon-turned-playwright, Rip, arrives. On the heels of his confrontation with Agatha about some possible alterations to his “mystery of the decade,” the cast and crew are surprised to learn of one murder and – very soon after – to witness a second! It seems as though Agatha’s reputation has coupled with the theatre’s "twenty year jinx," and together they have come to life on stage! But Detective Sarah Kirby arrives to solve the case and save the day… or does she?
Over the course of two days, this cast of quirky characters manages to work out the details and unravel the mystery – with no small amount of assistance from the great Ms. Christie! The style and format of the play are so true to Agatha’s form that the mystery maven herself would be proud to be the title character in this delightful play!
