The acclaimed Buffalo Nights Theatre Company is back with The Apollo of Bellac. Written in 1954, the show follows a young woman named Agnes, unemployed and terrified of men, until a mysterious stranger offers her “the secret,” not only to employment, but to riches, love and power. The play explores Jean Giraudoux’s life-long obsessions: the unbridgeable divides between men and women, between the rational and the emotional, and between the real and the ideal.
