In Broke as a Joke, Danny Lobell, who has been on This American Life, talks about his lifelong struggle with money and all the hilarity it has produced. He has done everything to make money, from working alongside a geriatric hawking Jackie Mason’s merchandise to breeding hairless designer cats and buying a chicken a rooster with his gangster neighbor to sell their eggs to hipsters. None of these harebrained schemes has been successful, but Lobell has had many laughs along the way.
