George Stiles’ and Anthony Drewe’s musical is based on Hans Christian Anderson’s the Ugly Duckling. Honk won the Olivier Award for Best Musical, beating out Disney’s production of the Lion King. Honk isn’t about big budget effects; it’s about a simple story we learned as children and remember as adults. There is physical comedy, plays on words and very witty dialogue. This is a musical that relates to people of any age, a true family musical.
