About the Show

Performer and writer Christopher Vened brings his inventive, funny and eye-opening new work to The Lounge Theatres in Hollywood. One of the most sacred taboos in theater is broken when mime and spoken word unite in the Los Angeles premiere of his solo show “Human Identity.” Vened was a star of Henryk Tomaszewski’s world-famous Wroclaw Pantomime Theater until he defected to the west while on tour in West Germany because martial law was declared in Poland. In the decades since, he’s become an influential force in the worlds of performance and training, writing a key textbook and teaching at UCLA. His latest piece of “monodrama theatre” is nothing less than a quest to figure out the meaning of human identity.
