MARY — A MUSICAL Workshop Presentation

In a departure from the usual live-performance or in-studio promotional videos, MARY — A MUSICAL, a new musical about Mary Magdalene, has released a "movie trailer"-style teaser. The 5-minute video stars L.A.-based Scout Durwood (Mary and Jane, MTV; co-host "The Hook," Atlantic City), as well as local New Jersey favorites Simone Corrado (Young Mary), Parker Smith (Peter), Jeremy Rotolo (Jesus), Chick Leiby (Uncle; Matt Castle: Uncle's voice), Frank Galgano (Hezron), and NYC-based Jarrod Bates (John), with cinematography by Frank Galgano. The trailer, originally released in October 2023, currently promotes 2 workshop presentations of MARY — A MUSICAL (music & lyrics by Gayla D. Morgan, book by Gayla D. Morgan & Jean Mornard) that will be live-streamed from L.A. 7/19 & 7/20, starring Julia Maria Johnson as Mary Magdalene, produced by Modern Opera Company, featuring all-Los Angeles talent.
