About the Show

Receiving its World Premiere at South Coast Repertory, My Wandering Boy tells the story of Emmett – who has gone missing, though nobody is sure why. A great athlete, an exceptional student, charming and charismatic, he dropped off the radar after college, and now his parents have hired a retired cop to find him. The search begins with his boots (discovered on a homeless man) and follows the highways of Emmett’s life to the men and women, friends and strangers, who came under his spell. He drew them in and then moved on, and the intriguing mystery of his life is all that remains with those who wait for Emmett to return.

My Wandering Boy is written by Los Angeles-based playwright Julie Marie Myatt and is directed by Bill Rauch; it is presented as part of the 10th annual Pacific Playwrights Festival.
