Ebony Repertory Theatre presents Two Trains Running, by August Wilson, directed by Israel Hicks.
Set in 1969 in Pittsburgh’s Hill District, the play tells the story of Memphis Lee, owner of a once-successful diner, and the regulars who visit the restaurant. With city renovators eyeing the building, Memphis is determined to make a fair profit from the inevitable sale of his restaurant and soon realizes that the fight for justice comes at a cost.
This is the 1960s chapter of the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright’s century cycle chronicling the lives of ordinary African Americans in the 20th century.
