Aida

Verdi’s 1871 opera comes to life in a lively modern pop version by Elton John and Tim Rice. Winner of four 2000 TONY Awards, Aida is an epic tale of love, loyalty and betrayal chronicling the love triangle between Aida, a Nubian princess stolen from her country, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, the soldier they both love. Romantic and life-affirming, the show includes a wide variety of ethnic musical styles, with African, Middle Eastern, and Indian sounds. Songs have reggae, motown, and gospel influences, with the mega-hit “Written in the Stars” the most familiar song in the show. Great musical for the whole family.
