About the Show

The South Bay is in for a sizzling summer when San Jose Repertory Theatre presents the critically acclaimed new play,
Cookin’ at the Cookery: The Music and Times of
Alberta Hunter. Written and Directed by Marion J. Caffey, the show is told “in the key of the blues” by two
actresses and four musicians performing soul-shaking
renditions of Hunters’ classic blues and jazz tunes
including “Rough and Ready Man,” “My Castle’s
Rockin’,” “I’m Having a Good Time,” “Down Hearted
Blues” and “The Love I Have for You.”

A Gala Fundraiser will take place at the Rep on July 12.
