Lionbruno and Other Tales from Italy: Storytelling and Puppetry

Mariella Bertelli is an Italian storyteller with extensive background in puppetry and theatre. Over the years she has collaborated with other tellers to create shows which blend storytelling, theatre and music. She comes to Montreal with puppets and stories from Italy as part of the Québec Intercultural Storytelling Festival’s Italy theme.

Do you know about the invisible cloak and the seven league boots? Have you heard about the flying carpet and the magic telescope? These stories of wonder and transformation, quest and magic will transport you from the Venetian shores, where a Crab Prince lives, to the Mediterranean Sea, where a Giant Octopus appears on a stormy night. Brothers will journey in their quest for love and all who listen will be involved in solving riddles from the land of the sun.
