About the Show

The Millionairess, it can be argued, is Bernard Shaw’s unwitting contribution to post-modernism. Our heroine–Epifania Ognisanti di Parerga Fitzfassenden–is incredibly wealthy but she wants more. Her late father has set conditions for any potential husband: he has to have a talent for making money. The nice Egyptian doctor that she falls in for has made a promise to his mother: any wife of his will be able to earn her own living. Our millionairess sets out to prove that she can make money from anything she touches simply because she is willing to take chances.
