Voices Underwater

In Abi Basch’s Voices Underwater, past and present flood into the attic of a plantation house that Emma mysteriously inherited, and challenge our expectations about race, gender, sexuality and the legacy of slavery in the South. With stunning visual imagery and poetic language, playwright Abi Basch spins a beautiful and moving new play. This world premiere production is presented in conjunction with Gas & Light Electric Theatre in Philadelphia and Serendipity Theatre Company in Chicago. Rachel May directs.
