The Hypocrites present Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, by Tennessee Williams, directed by Sean Graney.
The winner of the 1955 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, it is the story of a Southern family struggling to face mortality, and the lies they must tell each other and themselves to do so. “I am trying to catch the true quality of experience in a group of people, that cloudy, flickering, evanescent – fiercely charged! – interplay of live human beings in the thundercloud of a common crisis.” This stage direction is buried in the text of the play, and The Hypocrites production will strive to create that “fiercely charged” environment of a family driven to the point of cruelty.
No performances Sundays December 24 or 31.
