Gorilla Tango presents the world premiere of the hilarious comedy Basket Case, by Gareth Davies, directed by Kevin Hanna.
In the first act, “Three Men in a Basket,” a tranquil hot air balloon ride over the countryside quickly goes from bad to worse to every-man-for-himself as they realize they’re on a collision course with the open waters of the North Sea, all the while trying to maintain some semblance of humanity.
The second act treats you to “Conversations With a Twenty-Four Piece Dinner Service.” What’s a husband to do when every time he and his wife get into one of their fights, it invariably escalates into the wife smashing every china plate, cup, and gravy boat in the house? Hide in the bathroom and reevaluate the meaning of “And they lived happily ever after!”
Any theatergoer that has found themselves in the middle of something and thought ‘How on earth did I get myself into this mess?!?’ will relate to the funny situations these characters get themselves into – getting stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place has never been so concisely dissected, and the result has never been more riotous.
