Through social and political satire, Do These Pants Make Me Look Fake? examines the foibles of family, dating, religion, and issues ranging from birth to death. It explores what happens when the bluff is called and the false facades we’ve built up crumble before our eyes: A gay man discovers that his soon to be civil union husband is actually a beer-guzzling, chili-from-a-can-eating straight guy who thinks the gay world is his best protection from marriage. A young woman meets the grim reaper, only to discover that “Death” is merely a shy scaredy cat with a sickle. When an aging hippy takes a terrible fall and a giant stick of incense gets wedged up his backside, he suddenly turns into a Republican.
