About the Show

Don’t miss transcendent works by top ranking world choreographers in a remarkable “superstar season” by HSDC!

Never before has Hubbard Street Dance Chicago offered so many new works in one season or by such renowned, globally admired visionaries! The call went out, and they responded: Lucas Crandall, Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Lar Lubovitch, Ohad Naharin – plus Daniel Ezralow. It’s a summit of world choreography, right in Chicago, performed over three weeks by one of the world’s most exciting dance companies. In addition to five superstar premieres, HSDC presents Daniel Ezralow’s SF/LB, the high-voltage work set to music by Leonard Bernstein, seen only once before at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in November 2004. We’re also bringing back three recent works that have already become audience favorites: Rooster, set to the music of the Rolling Stones; Diphthong, performed to the powerful, syncopated beat of Zap Mama; and counter/part, inspired by the fugal intricacies of Bach’s glorious Brandenburg Concerti.

Each of the Spring Engagement’s three weeks offers a different set of works, combining breathtaking premieres with established favorites. Different moods, different approaches, same result: You’ll be star-struck!
